Packaging Manager
Title:Packaging Manager
Location:Lemont Furnace, PA (Fayette County)

The Packaging Manager reports directly to the Facility Director with a dotted line to the Chief Operations Officer and is primarily responsible for complete oversight of all packaging activities including supervising the packaging team and process. Ensuring that the facility is safe and compliant with OSHA and state regulations. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring all company policies are upheld and all company-provided standard operating procedures are adhered to.

This position is responsible for the packaging of the company product at Penn Health. The Packaging Manager will oversee the preparation of product for delivery to the dispensaries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises, trains and motivates staff
  • Completes evaluations and provides feedback
  • Spends 100% of their time in packaging functions, printing labels, applying stickers etc.
  • Portion and weigh products for packaging
  • Makes sure there is adequate inventory and par levels packaged each shift/day.
  • Makes sure product, dispensary and tamper proof labels are printed accurately and  correctly placed on each product.
  • Works with the Inventory Analyst to ensure information is entered into the seed to sale inventory tracking system correctly.
  • Oversees delivery packing and due diligence required at Penn Health Facility prior to delivery leaving the facility.

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • 2-5 years experience in a management position in manufacturing, inventory management, business logistics required
  • Experience in the medicinal marijuana field or pharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Able to manage and delegate to staff in a fast paced environment
  • Experience building teams and hiring/firing
  • Proven track record of strategic planning and driving revenue
  • Experience creating and reporting key performance indicators, weekly/bi-weekly metrics executive summaries
  • Experienced in managing formal performance appraisal programs for Team Members, as well as identifying and developing high potential employees
  • Excellent mathematical, language and reasoning skills

Physical Activities and Additional Requirements:

  • Is able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to stand on their feet for at least 8 hours a day with constant movement
  • Required to work with hazardous chemicals and to wear appropriate clothing.
  • Requires some variable hours and on call after business hours to meet the needs of the business
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug test

While performing the duties of this job, you may frequently be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear and occasionally required to climb stairs/ladders; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste or smell. You must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities usually required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
